MENDOCINO Co., 10/23/19 — There are currently 1725 Pacific Gas & Electric customers in Laytonville and 1374 in Covelo without power due to an outage, and PG&E is assessing the cause. PG&E claims that the power is expected to be restored between 11:45 a.m and 12:30 p.m.
According to PG&E these outages are not related to the planned power shutdown that is supposed to occur in parts of southeastern Mendocino County due to fire weather risks.
PG&E will be updating their “current outages” page, which currently lists restoration times mid-day today for Laytonville and Covelo. These are unrelated to the planned power shutdowns, which you can find more information about here. PG&E has said that they have take precautions to make sure that their website doesn’t crash again, as it did last time, so in theory checking the outage map should give the latest info on this outage.
