Ukiah City Council makes moves towards affordable housing — legalizing dispensaries
At its meeting on Jan 18, the council voted 4-0 to introduce a cannabis dispensary ordinance. In a separate 4-0 vote, the council agreed to send leftover bond money to affordable housing projects.

Judge appoints receiver for Ukiah’s Palace Hotel
The Ukiah City Council declared the Palace Hotel a nuisance in 2011. In 2015, a judge directed the city and the property’s owner to consider mediation. Monday he appointed a receiver.
