Judge Ann Moorman reinstates bail for Gina Rae Bean while she appeals conviction

Bean was scheduled to turn herself in and begin a 210 sentence in January, but court records show that so far she has credit for just one day in custody.

Judge Moorman acknowledged that many community members will be unhappy that Bean avoided prison, but stressed that her sentence must be within state guidelines in order to survive appeal in a higher court.

Attorneys stipulated that Hunnicutt ran a red light and struck the side of Bean’s truck. She’s facing a maximum of four years in state prison when she returns to court for sentencing Dec. 3.
