CalTrans’ traffic engineer says 30mph in Philo makes the zone an unenforceable speed trap, but residents of Philo protested, demanding a slower speed. At the end of a heated discussion, the board decided to request traffic calming measures.

The tree is “larger than a telephone pole” and blocking both lanes.

The gate at the 128 was stil closed late in the evening November 14.
