UKIAH, CA., 7/16/25 – Alleged domestic violence by a Ukiah man and his mother against a woman he was dating led to the deployment of a SWAT team and two arrests, police said Wednesday.
On July 8 at about 3 a.m., Ukiah officers were sent to the 1000 block of South State Street on a report of a possible domestic violence case.
Police spoke with a 19-year-old woman who said she was in a dating relationship with Jaime Gregg, 21. She said that the two had gotten into multiple arguments throughout the night and that Gregg allegedly hit her in the face with his open hand. She also alleged that Gregg grabbed a loaded Glock pistol and held it to her head, threatening to kill her and then himself. After pleading for him to put the gun down, he eventually complied, she said.
During these events, Gregg’s mother, Kcaj Larson, 44, was also at the residence. Larson allegedly got into a physical fight with the victim, grabbing her hair and neck and pushing her against a dryer.
Ultimately the 19-year-old woman was able to flee the residence and ask someone on the street for help, police said.
Due to the allegation that a gun was used during the assault, police were concerned that a firearm was in the house and a search warrant was issued. Police also summoned the Mendocino-Lake County Regional SWAT Team.
As SWAT surrounded the residence, officers confirmed that Gregg was still inside, and they ordered him out. He complied and was taken into custody. Police allege that Larson resisted complying and was “confrontational” with the SWAT team but eventually came out with her 5-year-old grandchild.
A search of the residence allegedly uncovered a Glock pistol, a short-barrel rifle, automatic rifle parts, and a suicide note in Gregg’s room. In Larson’s room where she was staying with her grandchild, police allege they located 16 grams of methamphetamine. The 5-year-old was taken into temporary custody of Child Protective Services.
Gregg was booked into the Mendocino County Jail on suspicion of four felonies, including being in possession of a stolen firearm, being in possession of a short-barrel rifle, assault with a deadly weapon, and threatening with intent to terrorize. He was also booked for suspected domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Larson was booked on suspicion of child abuse, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and battery, all misdemeanors.
As of Wednesday, Larson was no longer in custody. Gregg is being held on $100,000 bail.
