UPDATE 1:40 p.m. — The CalFire “air attack” plane has been released and is heading back to Ukiah. Other resources are also being released from the fire and heading back to base, so looks like the Tomki Incident is under control, and never got very big.
Busy day for small wildfires today.
UPDATE 1:30 p.m. — The Tomki Incident fire is about 1/4 acre in size, and not spreading.
ORIGINAL 1:10 p.m.
WILLITS, 6/13/18 — A new wildfire has broken out near Mariposa Creek Rd. and Spanish Spring Rd., close to the Tomki Rd. Little Lake Fire and Redwood Valley Fire are responding along with CalFire. The fire appears to be burning slowly in the area hilly area between Pine Mountain and Redwood Valley. CalFire is calling this fire the “Tomki Incident”
CalFire’s 101 copter and tankers flew directly from the small fire near Dos Rios, to this fire near Tomki.
According to scanner chatter the fire does not appear to be spreading quickly, as of about 1 p.m.
CalFire does not currently believe any power lines are down, but they will be laying down retardant over power lines, and are advising PG&E.
At least one of the tankers has been released from the Tomki Incident, and is back at base in Ukiah.
