Clams, whales, and wine—oh my! Whale Festival comes to the Mendocino Coast

The events range from coastal walks at the Mendocino Headlands to campfires and story hours at Van Damme State Beach.

Noyo Center for Marine Science leads events with exhibits and walks

Events take place along the coast throughout March.

Prizes were also awarded to bartenders from Mendocino County and further afield for Most Creative, Best Use of Heat, and Best Garnish.

Right now gray whales are heading north, many with new calves in tow, and in Mendocino County that means it’s time for the Whale Festival!
