GP mill site was second Fort Bragg property the Skunk Train has acquired through eminent domain

The Skunk Train used eminent domain to take over almost 300 acres of prime property in Fort Bragg, but the city is contesting the railway’s status as a public utility.

The Fort Bragg City Council accepted the resignation of City Manager Tabatha Miller during their special meeting Monday, but did not report any decisions related to the Skunk Train lawsuit made in closed session.

On Monday night, the Fort Bragg City Council unanimously approved a letter to the Department of Transportation requesting it refuse a loan to Mendocino Railway, which the company described as retaliation for acquiring the millsite through eminent domain.
