Storm forces closure of OHV trails in parts of Mendocino National Forest

The U.S. Forest Service closed more than 135 miles of trails in the Upper Lake Ranger District as winter storms move through the region.

The U.S. Forest Service closed more than 135 miles of trails in the Upper Lake Ranger District as winter storms moved through the region.

Permits can be purchased online or at forest offices, with designated cutting areas helping thin overcrowded stands and improve forest health.

Hammerhorn Campground, burned in the 2020 August Complex, was rebuilt with help from conservation groups, veterans and volunteers.
