MENDOCINO CO., CA., 6/11/26 — A heat advisory is in effect from Thursday at noon through Friday evening for inland Mendocino County, the National Weather Service’s Eureka office announced, warning of above normal temperatures that are likely to continue into early next week.

According to the weather service, the advisory is in effect from noon Thursday until Friday at 5 p.m., and covers from just south of Willits to Hopland, reaching west to Montgomery Woods and Yorkville, east to Lake Pillsbury and Lake County and further south past Hopland to Guerneville.

The weather service warns to never leave kids or pets unattended in vehicles, and recommends drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated, even if you don’t feel thirsty, as well as wearing lightweight, light-colored loose clothing. Spending some time in air conditioning can also help battle overheating, the weather service advised.

A heat advisory for Interior Mendocino and Lake counties warns of afternoon temperatures up to 105°F, with major heat risk from 12 PM today to 10 PM Friday, and provides safety actions and a map of affected areas.

By 5 p.m. Thursday, areas of Redwood Valley are projected to reach 102 degrees and the forecast high for both Ukiah and Hopland is 103 degrees, according to the weather service.

Temperatures are expected to be a couple degrees lower Friday around the same time., with 99 degrees forecasted in Redwood Valley and Hopland and 100 degrees in Ukiah. Similar temperatures are projected to continue throughout the weekend but could carry on into the next week, according to the weather service.
