MENDOCINO CO., CA., 6/11/26 — Another round of results released Thursday morning from the Mendocino County elections office for last week’s statewide primary show the leader for the county District 3 supervisor race has switched from Eric Hart to Buffey Wright Bourassa.

Incumbent Supervisor Ted Williams is still in the lead for District 5 and the bond measure for Mendocino College is not showing enough approval to pass still.

Initial results released after polls closed on Election Day showed Hart to be in the lead for District 3, which covers the Covelo, Laytonville and Willits areas, but now Wright Bourassa has 1,029 votes to Hart’s 976, as of the results that came out just before noon Thursday. Among the other candidates vying for the position that current Supervisor John Haschak did not seek reelection for, Clay Romero received 758 votes and Russell Green got 413 votes.

Williams, the incumbent supervisor for District 5, covering Ukiah to Mendocino to Gualala and over to Hopland, leads with 1,795 votes, Kevin Evans has 667 votes and Todd Lyly has 535 votes.

Measure A, a bond measure that would levy a parcel tax on properties in the Mendocino-Lake Community College District to pay for $98 million in bonds to fund repairs and program updates for Mendocino College, has more than 53% yes votes, but not the 55% required to pass.

The official election results will be finalized by the county within 30 days after Election Day and sent to the Secretary of State for certification.

  1. The bond issue makes one wonder how much better the college would be doing had they taken up Bob Harrah’s offer of free land if that bulit the college in Willits.
