MENDOCINO CO., 11/12/25 – The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for inland Mendocino County beginning Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.

The advisory comes ahead of a storm expected to bring 2 to 3 inches of rain to inland areas, raising concerns about flooding in urban zones — particularly in Ukiah, where heavy rainfall can overwhelm drainage systems and flood roadways.

The weather service also warned of an increased risk of rockslides and landslides.

“You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings,” the agency said in a statement. “Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Take extra caution if driving.”

As of Wednesday afternoon, the National Water Prediction Service had not reported flood concerns for the Navarro, Garcia or Russian rivers. However, officials advised travelers to remain prepared as conditions can change rapidly.

A wind advisory is also in effect, with southeasterly gusts expected to reach up to 65 mph in some inland areas.

Because Mendocino County has many microclimates, conditions can shift quickly. Track the latest weather updates at http://www.weather.gov.
