MENDOCINO CO., 11/11/25 – A strong storm will bring rain and gusty winds to Mendocino County starting Wednesday afternoon and tapering off Friday.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin Wednesday afternoon along the coast before spreading inland later in the day.
Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected, with localized flooding possible in low-lying areas, streams and spots with poor drainage. The weather service advises motorists not to drive through flooded roadways: “Turn around, don’t drown.”
The storm will also bring strong southeasterly winds, with gusts of 25 to 30 mph in most areas, including coastal bluffs, on Wednesday night. Inland ridges could see gusts up to 65 mph, prompting the weather service to issue a wind advisory for interior Mendocino County from Wednesday evening through 7 a.m. Thursday.
Downed trees and power outages are possible. Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects and use extra caution when traveling, especially in high-profile vehicles.
Showers will taper off Friday, followed by a chilly weekend. Another round of rain is possible Sunday.
