The Ukiah Branch Library will host an Art Walk opening Friday, Nov. 6 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. This month, the library is featuring the show “Mark Making: Oils on Canvas” by longtime Mendocino County resident Dennis Fleming.

Fleming’s interest in art has been lifelong, with a fascination with the visual representation of life through mark making. After heading to North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains in 2020 to seek refuge from the pandemic, Fleming found inspiration in the beauty and sylvan wonder of the region. After a 30-year hiatus from making art, he cemented his commitment to his once abandoned dream of painting upon his return to Mendocino County. Fleming’s art is a representation of his journey of focus and reconciliation.

The branch will host live music by the Artful Codgers and an all-ages mini landscape creative program. A robust book sale put on by the Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library could also solve some holiday shopping dilemmas.

The event is at the Ukiah branch of the Mendocino County Library, 105 N. Main St., Ukiah, Friday, Nov. 6 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
