UKIAH, CA., 9/28/26 — The Grace Hudson’s Museum’s latest exhibition, “Deep Valley: People, Places, Memory,” explores many elements of the Greater Ukiah Valley — past and present — that helped create and shape the community. The exhibit also commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Grace Hudson Museum and the 150th anniversary of the City of Ukiah. The show takes a look at places and associations such as Todd Grove Park, the Palace Hotel, Mendocino State Hospital, Pinoleville Rancheria, the Latino Americano Concilio, and the history and evolution of the historic Sun House and the Grace Hudson Museum.
During first Fridays, museum entry is free all day, and on Oct. 2, special First Friday events run from 5 to 8 p.m. Museumgoers can enjoy live music with jazz musicians Pierre Archain on upright bass and Greg Hester on keyboards, performing an eclectic range of jazz from bebop to more contemporary styles. Visitors can also discover or get reacquainted with the Museum’s core galleries, featuring Grace Hudson’s artwork, exquisite Pomo basketry, and Carpenter-Hudson family history. Mellow autumn days are a perfect time to take an evening walk in the Wild Gardens. Refreshments will be available.
