FORT BRAGG, CA., 5/16/26 — The city of Fort Bragg announced construction is underway on a new Grocery Outlet location.
The city said construction on the project started in the last week of April and is expected to take about a year. Grocery Outlet’s target is an April 2027 opening.
The 16,000-square-foot Grocery Outlet is being built on the site of the old Mendocino County Social Services building on the corner of South Franklin Street between South Street and North Harbor Drive.

Early on in the project, a temporary sound barrier will be built to protect neighboring residential units from the loud sounds of construction, as part of the conditions that were agreed to when the proposal for the project went through the city planning commission, the city said.
The city said this project will offer increased access to affordable grocery options while giving life to a prominent commercial site. Fort Bragg City Manager Isaac Whippy said the city is focused on working to bring new life to key properties.
“It’s about building momentum across our community and creating more opportunities for residents and businesses alike,” Whippy said.

This project has been in the works for several years and resulted in litigation. Remy Moose Manley, a California law firm that consults on building projects, represented Best Development Group in obtaining and defending the approval of the Grocery Outlet project.
A San Francisco judge’s ruling upheld the California Coastal Commission’s determination that the project didn’t conflict with Fort Bragg’s local coastal program, a planning document required by the state to manage development for cities and counties along the coast.

Were is the parking lot going to be if the store is exsposed to be that big the parking lot will be as big as 3/4 the size of CVS store here in fort bragg . We will have to park down the road . You know what is down the road the cop shop . Wich means alot of tickets being handed out for busy traffic conditions and confusion . There will need to be stop lights wich will make traffic buildup and accidents . It will be harder to get to the Harbour. And we will be needing to build a jail for all the thieves because more arrests means alot more trips over the hill. Quick fix we will get our own jail more cops . New guards. More people . New court house more crimes to fill the court house . Wich means stricter cops and heavier laws . The court house will become the location of the new jail and the court house will take over one of our schools the school will be moved closer to town theres alot of possibility but I bet cheaper milk and eggs are not one of them if the prices were going to be cheaper you’d think they would make plans for a bigger parking lot . If they do start cheap there prices will jump just like the doller store did . By the way wha petition do I have to start to get the dolker store to change there name . Nothing is a doller there 1.25 cheape as they go up to 7 or even 9 bucks . False advertisement. That should be illegal you dont see a store called tv’s and radios selling everything but tv’s and radios right . Somebody needs to speak up
So, don’t shop there when it opens if it’s going to be such an inconvenience for you. Go to Safeway, huge parking lot, already sky-high prices. Seems like you’d be happier there.
Oddie blagg, are you retarded, and/or did you get dropped on your head a lot growing up?
