MENDOCINO CO., 4/6/26 — A free, family-friendly celebration of the new spring season will take place Saturday at Mill Bend Preserve in Gualala from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., hosted by Redwood Coast Land Conservancy.
Coffee and pastries will be provided, and there will be activities such as planting and potting native plants to take home, painting bird eggs and discovering the local bird species, along with other arts and crafts for kids and families. A guided native plant walk starts at 10:30 a.m. from the cottage at the preserve.

The April 11 event will be held rain or shine at 46902 Old Stage Rd in Gualala. Parking will be available just inside the open gate, and guests needing assistance may drive up to the cottage.
The nonprofit Redwood Coast Land Conservancy purchased Mill Bend Preserve in 2021 through a community-wide effort that secured 113 acres near the mouth of the Gualala River. Within Mill Bend is the river’s estuary, varied upland habitats and Gualala’s historic cemetery.
