MENDOCINO CO., 3/10/26 – Youth from across the county take the stage Sunday in Redwood Valley to present talks on agriculture, animals and other hands-on projects during the annual 4-H Presentation Day.

4-H is a nationwide youth development program that helps young people build leadership and practical skills through hands-on projects and community activities, often connected to agriculture, science and civic engagement.

Hosted by the Ukiah Shamrock 4-H Club, Presentation Day gives members a chance to research a subject and present it before judges and an audience. Youth may compete in several formats, including illustrated talks, educational displays, skits and cultural arts presentations.

Topics planned for this year’s event range widely, reflecting the interests of the participants. From rabbit breeding to rose cultivation, the subjects to be covered are as diverse as Mendocino County itself.

Judges will evaluate presentations based on timing, organization, delivery and how clearly information is communicated. Youth who earn blue or gold awards may advance to regional competition and potentially state competition at the California 4-H State Presentation Day.

The event is open to the public and will take place Sunday, March 15 at 9 a.m., Eagle Peak Middle School, 8601 West Road, Redwood Valley. For more information, contact Hannah Bird at hbird@ucanr.edu or (707) 744-1424 ext. 1642.
