UKIAH, CA., 12/18/25 — A felon was allegedly found with weapons and narcotics on Thursday in Ukiah, according to police.

Around noon, officers were alerted via city license plate readers to an allegedly stolen vehicle driving through town. The system indicated the Ford pickup truck was last seen in the area of North State Street near Garret Drive. According to police, the vehicle had recently been reported stolen out of Cloverdale.

An officer located the pickup being driven south onto U.S. Highway 101 from Gobbi Street. The officer continued to follow the vehicle onto the highway and initiated a traffic stop with backup from other units. The driver, Kenneth Berry, 40, exited and was taken into custody.

During a search of the vehicle, a loaded .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol was allegedly found next to the driver’s seat. Police said the pistol had no serial number, which appeared to have been removed. Berry is a convicted felon and therefore prohibited from possessing firearms.

Additionally, officers allege multiple hypodermic syringes loaded with suspected methamphetamine, a meth pipe and several rounds of shotgun ammunition were also located.

Berry was booked into Mendocino County Jail on suspicion of five felonies and two misdemeanors, including being in possession of a stolen vehicle, being a felon in possession of an unregistered firearm and ammunition, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on $35,000 bail, according to jail records.
