MENDOCINO CO., 6/22/25 – Whether it’s fireworks or barbecues, there will be plenty of festive celebrations in Mendocino County on behalf of the red, white and blue.
Reminder: Per Cal Fire: Fireworks are illegal in certain areas of California because each year serious injuries and millions of dollars in property loss occur from wildfires sparked by fireworks. Large grass crops and dry vegetation increase the threat of devastating fires throughout all of California. Check your local laws and ordinances to find out if fireworks are illegal where you live or if certain “Safe and Sane” fireworks are permitted. Learn more here.

We are visiting Mendocino County for the first time for July 4. We have an elderly dog that does not cope well with fireworks that go off across the street from our home. I was relieved to hear Mendocino community is relatively quiet. I am bummed that all the events happening on this page clearly state “No Dogs”. I guess we will not be celebrating with you all.😕
Hi Tammy. Only one event on this article says no dogs – the Point Arena Street Fair and Fireworks Extravaganza. All the other events allow dogs – just call ahead or reach out if you have questions. And if you want to bring your dog, check out the Point Arena or Mendocino parades. Both are dog friendly. Happy 4th of July!
Quiet….right..lol
You probably picked the wrong time to visit “quiet” mendocino.. this is DEFINITELY the craziest weekend of the year.
