UKIAH, CA., 07/15/25— A man was found dead in a dry creek bed in Ukiah on Saturday afternoon, according to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office.
The creek runs between 1130 S. State St. and Mulberry Street.
On Saturday, a citizen saw the man in the creek and reported it to the Ukiah Police Department. At 2:43 p.m., police notified the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office to conduct a coroner’s investigation. When sheriff’s officials arrived, UPD and the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority were already on the scene.
Authorities have not determined the man’s cause of death. The Sheriff’s Office will be ordering a toxicology report.
Sheriff’s spokesperson Capt. Quincy Cromer said an autopsy will be conducted this week, followed by the toxicology report, which is typically available six to eight weeks after the autopsy.

He was my nephew ,not homeless but a person that was way to trusting and kinda Gullible So didn’t see the world as unsafe .
He will be missed and was loved by his family just wish he had not left home and put him self in danger and died from the result of his trusting nature 💔
I wonder how long he was in the creek, i passed by maybe a week or two ago and i wondered if the smell was a body or roadkill
