Gas leak prompts evacuation orders near downtown Ukiah
A gas leak has prompted evacuation orders for about five blocks of North Main Street near downtown Ukiah on Monday afternoon.
An alert about the gas leak was first sent about 2 p.m. The evacuation orders are for North Main Street between Perkins and Norton streets, according to an alert from the Ukiah Police Department.
Residents are asked to avoid the area.
The Ukiah Valley Conference Center at 200 S. School St. is serving as an evacuation center said the city of Ukiah.
