MENDOCINO CO., 7/21/25 – Chow down on tri-tip and sip margaritas while dancing the afternoon away, all while raising money for a good cause at the 19th annual Elk Volunteer Fire Department’s Summer BBQ in Elk on Saturday.

Established in 1956, the EVFD provides emergency response to Elk and the surrounding area. The proceeds from the event will help the EVFD maintain its fire stations, vehicles, and equipment; provide new safety gear to firefighters; and support ongoing training.

In 2024, the EVFD responded to over 100 emergencies, including wildfires and vehicle collisions.

The ticket price includes a meal of tri-tip, chicken, or polenta and mushroom ragout, along with baked beans, coleslaw, rolls, dessert and coffee.

The event’s “famous” margaritas will also be served, alongside beer, wine and alcohol-free options.
