UKIAH, CA., 6/9/25 – A Ukiah man and Willits teen were arrested last month in Ukiah for allegedly possessing a gun and a large amount of marijuana for sale, police said.
Around 11 p.m. on May 24, a police officer noticed a Ford Mustang fail to stop at a controlled intersection in downtown Ukiah. The officer stopped the car in the 900 block of Helen Avenue.
According to the police, a man was driving and a teenage boy was a passenger in the Mustang. When asked for his name, the driver allegedly gave the officer a fake name.
The driver was identified as 19-year-old Ivan Aguilar of Ukiah and the passenger as a 17-year-old from Willits.
While talking to Aguilar and the teen, the officer allegedly saw “multiple pounds” of marijuana bud behind the driver’s seat.
Aguilar and the teen were removed from the vehicle and detained.
The officer searched the car using probable cause and allegedly found $1,000 in cash, a large quantity of marijuana packaged for sale, and a loaded .38 Special revolver.
Aguilar was booked at Mendocino County Jail, and the teen at Mendocino County Juvenile Hall, on suspicion of felony conspiracy, concealing an unregistered firearm, carrying a concealed firearm in a car, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana for sale.
