UKIAH, CA., 5/8/25 — A woman died after she fell down and was hit by a car Monday afternoon at a gas station parking lot in Ukiah, police said.

The collision was reported shortly after 3 p.m. at a convenience store gas station in the 1100 block of Airport Park Boulevard.

It was initially reported as a hit-and-run collision, but when police arrived the driver was still at the scene.

Officers found the woman lying on the ground in a parking stall in front of the business. Emergency crews provided aid and the woman was airlifted to a trauma center.

The next morning, police learned that she had died. Her name was not released.

Police said it appeared that just before the collision, the woman had stumbled and fallen to the ground. While she was laying there, she was hit by a driver who was attempting to park.

The collision is under investigation, police said.
