UKIAH, CA., 3/20/25 – A man was arrested Monday on suspicion of burglarizing county-owned vehicles in Ukiah, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office said.  

Around 2 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a call of a reported burglary of county vehicles at Mendocino County Animal Care Services in Ukiah.  

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived at the scene to several vehicles damaged from burglarizing. Several items were also missing from the vehicles. Deputies suspected the burglary took place early Sunday morning. 

A vehicle was identified as being associated with the burglary by deputies who issued a “be on the look out” alert to other law enforcement for the vehicle.  

On Monday, officers from the Ukiah Police Department located the vehicle in the 900 block of South State Street. The driver was identified as 39-year-old Warren Peck of Ukiah. Peck was detained and a concealed weapon was found on him during a search, police said.  

Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene and located several stolen items in the vehicle belonging to Animal Care Services.  

Peck was arrested and booked into Mendocino County Jail on suspicion of three felony offenses — burglary, vandalism and theft with prior convictions.
