MENDOCINO CO., 10/9/24 – After an extensive closure, the visitor center at MacKerricher State Park’s visitor center is open, according to MendoParks. Scroll down to see the center’s new look and learn more.

The visitor center was closed during construction at the adjacent bathrooms. It reopened at the beginning of the month, said Sid Garza-Hillman, executive director of MendoParks.

MendoParks is a nonprofit that supports 10 state parks in Mendocino County with educational activities, park improvements and the operation of visitor centers.

According to Garza-Hillman, the center was renovated with a new mural and restocked with new merchandise, including hats, shirts, nature guides and toys.

In addition to retail, the center also offers information on MacKerricher State Park and other parks in the area. It also has interpretive information about wildlife visitors can spot on their walk.
The visitor center is open on weekends. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. until sunset. Visit mendoparks.com to learn more.
