MENDOCINO CO., 10/8/24 – The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office busted 16 illegal cannabis grows in the Round Valley area of northeastern Mendocino County in late September.
Over the course of five days, the Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with various state and local agencies, seized 30,382 marijuana plants and 23,246 pounds of processed marijuana ready for sale. The busts also netted $132,010 worth of psilocybin mushrooms.

In addition to the drugs, six firearms were seized, including a sawed-off shotgun and a ghost gun assault rifle.
All the sites were located near the unincorporated community of Covelo with the exception of one, which was located in Mendocino National Forest.
During the busts, investigators found water diversions and the use of dangerous pesticides near waterways. The pesticides that were found are so dangerous that the products are banned in the U.S., sheriff’s officials said.

The busts are part of a larger program by the Sheriff’s Office and other agencies to target unregulated and unlicensed cannabis production in the county.
To implement the busts and investigations, the Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, California Department of Fish and Wildlife and their environmental impact team, the California State Water Resources Control Board, the Eradication and Prevention of Illicit Cannabis team, the California Department of Justice and the Mendocino Major Crimes Task Force.
The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information regarding illegal cannabis operations in Mendocino County to contact their non-emergency tip line at (707) 234-2100.

The photo shown is fat from “processed Marijuana. It looks more like shake. Basically of no or very little value these days.
You’d think with 30,000 lbs they’d photograph something that is worth more money so the work they did seems justified.
What a waste of time.
Y’all got any time Left to work poor Manuel Alvarado into your busy busy schedule? Seems like the only real decent thing to do, maybe next bust you can pen him in, since you’re pretty much right there anyway 🙄
