UPDATED 6:25 p.m. – The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office has announced that all evacuation warnings and orders have been lifted. Fire crews may still be working in the area. Traffic may be heavy in the area.
UPDATED 5:57 p.m. – According to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office the evacuation order for the 1800 block of North State Street has been downgraded to an evacuation warning. Please see below for our initial reporting.

UKIAH, CA., 9/3/24 – Fire agencies are responding to a wildfire in Ukiah as of Tuesday afternoon.
The fire, dubbed the Masonite Fire, is burning near North State Street and Orr Springs Road, according to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).
At 5:12 p.m., an evacuation order is in place for the 1800 block of North State Street and the surrounding area (evacuation zone MEN-2UKV15-A) is under an evacuation warning.
According to Caltrans, the North State Street exit ramp from Highway 101 is closed in both directions with no estimated time of reopening.
MCSO and the Ukiah Police Department are requesting that people avoid the area, including that area of Highway 101 and North State Street.
