7/16/24 12:26 p.m. — The victim of Friday’s homicide in Point Arena has been named by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. The man, Kevin Taeuffer, was 54 years old and resided in Annapolis in Sonoma County. His next of kin have been notified. Taeuffer was allegedly shot dead by Pan Jasper Brady of Point Arena during an argument. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

POINT ARENA, 7/14/24 – The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office arrested 47-year-old Pan Jasper Brady of Point Arena for allegedly shooting and killing a man on Thursday.
The department received a 911 call on Thursday at about 8:06 p.m. from Brady, who reported he shot a person. Brady said he and the victim had been in an argument, and that during the argument, Brady said he procured a handgun and shot the victim. The firearm was then secured while Brady waited for law enforcement.
When MCSO and the California State Parks Peace Officers responded to the call, they found the victim dead from at least one gunshot wound.
Brady was arrested and booked at the Mendocino County Jail. He was charged with homicide and using a firearm during the commission of a homicide. He is being held on bail for $1 million.
The victim is a 54-year-old male from Annapolis in Sonoma County. The identity of the victim will be released after next of kin have been notified. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
