A 10-acre vegetation fire that broke out Saturday evening in Dos Rios near Covelo in Mendocino County is contained, Cal Fire said on social media Saturday night.

According to Cal Fire, the Rios Fire start time was 5:49 p.m. and as of 9:30 p.m., the blaze was contained. Fire personnel were engaging the fire Saturday night, and it was surrounded by retardant, the agency said. Dos Rios is an unincorporated community in Mendocino County.

The fire had a moderate to slow rate of spread and dozer crews were making access points for hand crews to actively engage the fire, Cal Fire said Saturday night. A total of 70 personnel was on hand fighting the fire.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation, Cal Fire said.
