WILLITS, 8/26/20 — A small vegetation fire is burning in the Longvale area off SR-162. There are also down power lines near the fire, with 110 customers out of service, but it’s not definitively known if the downed lines cause the fire, or if the fire downed the lines.
The fire is under an acre in size, and Cal Fire aircraft as well as local volunteer departments have responded to the fire and are working on it.
The uprooted Oak tree took the powerlines down. I was the first one on the scene in my Caltrans vactor truck We just so happen to be working right around the corner. I was able to keep the fire from getting away Until CDF and the other fire crews got there because I had about 1000 gallons of water on me
