UPDATE 5 p.m. — We don’t have a direct information from Cal Fire about progress on the fire, but one apparently good sign is that the aircraft that were previously working the fire have been pulled off.
10/24/19 — A small wildfire is burning near Dos Rios, near the bridge.
The fire is being called the Burger Fire and has reached about half an acre in size, burning in conifer timber and oak, with no structures threaten and a slow rate of spread. Aircraft have engaged the fire and are making retardant drops — at least on plane has been on the fire, and a couple more have been spotted flying north of Willits.
Fire crews are working at making access to the fire, and so far the fire has had a slow rate of spread and the wind has not been a significant factor, unlike with the Kincade Fire which exploded up to 10,000 acres in size overnight in Sonoma County.
