Update 8p.m. – The fire has been contained.
MENDOCINO Co., 2/27/18 — A wildfire has broken out near Crawford Rd. in Covelo, it is apparently at about two acres currently, and involves multiple structures. Several departments are responding, and the CalFire has sent a helicopter. The fire appears to be burning in grass, in the vicinity of the Covelo Airport.
Traffic might be impacted on Foothill Road to allow better access for emergency vehicles in the area.

Over the scanner there have been some reports of difficulty getting sufficient water to fight the fire.
When will someone in county government get with residents to form a special district and get a hydrant water system in place up there. He Cavalry is gone now.
