4:15pm: PG&E is currently reporting outages affecting less than 50 customers in Willits, Brooktrails, Fort Bragg, and northeast of Leggett. Alderpoint, Garberville, and the Myers Flat area are also seeing outages. PG&E updates every 15 minutes at this site, and you can also report outages in your area.
Snow has resumed in northern Mendocino and readers are reporting up to 6 inches of snow in Brooktrails (at 2200 feet) and snow sticking in the Pine Mountain area. Some roads are reported to be closed in Humboldt, Trinity, and Del Norte counties due to winter weather, but as of now CHP is not reporting any road closures in Mendocino County. 12:00pm: Mendocino County Department of Transportation is out plowing county roads but be advised more snow is predicted through Wednesday, and some roads require chains. This morning has seen several accidents due to icy conditions around the county so please drive safe out there! We will be updating road information as it becomes available. Readers are reporting that Highway 101 in interior north Mendocino County are largely clear as of 12:45pm and county road crews are plowing county roads. Highway 101 between Laytonville and Willits is currently clear, and readers report that current conditions in Covelo are clear for the moment. Snowman can no longer hold it all together in downtown Willits mid-day today.
Original Report: At 8:40am, a caller on Masonite Road hear a woman screaming about having been in a traffic accident. A 4-door red sedan was in need of a tow truck with at least 150 feet of cable, at Orr Springs Road near North State Street. An ambulance was en route.
At 8:22am, CHP had a report of a gray GMC Sonoma pickup truck in a ditch off of Highway 175, between Hopland and Lakeport. No injuries were reported.
As of 10am, there is a vehicle blocking the road on Highway 128, west of Navarro.
Road work
One of four lanes on the 101 from 271 to 1.5 miles south of the Humboldt County line is closed due to work expected to end March 31, 2017.
One of two lanes on the 101 at Cal Fire at Leggett is closed due to work expected to be finished January 31, 2017.
On Route 20 pavement repairs from the North Calpella Overcrossing to Road 260 continue with one-way traffic control.
Routine maintenance on Highway 101 near Frog Woman Rock continues, with one-way traffic control.
Slide repairs on the 101 near Standish-Hickey State Park are ongoing, with a temporary signal controlling one-way traffic.
