WILLITS — The next Mendocino County Behavioral Health Advisory Board (BHAB) meeting will take place Wednesday, October 19, in Willits at the Mendocino County Museum. As part of the scheduled agenda the advisory board members will be holding a discussion on the proposed mental health facility sales tax on the November ballot.
John Wetzler, BHAB chair, said he hoped Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman will be able to attend the discussion on the measure. Allman is one of the main authors of Measure AG, which will raise the county sales tax by a half cent for five years to fund the development of a mental health facility.
The agenda item is described as “Review and Discussion of Measure AG and AH as described for the November 2016 Ballot – Discussion and Possible Motion to advise BHRS Director and BOS – Compose letter by Chair and Executive Committee.” Wetzler said he expected the board to vote on whether to support the two measures.
The BHAB meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Mendocino County Museum, located at 400 E. Commercial Street in Willits, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wetzler said he expected the discussion to take place during the second portion of the meeting.
From the agenda:
The meeting is intended for members of the public who are interested in supporting their local mental health services system. Community members are encouraged to attend the meeting to ask questions, obtain information and provide feedback.
