Events the weekend of June 16 include tide pooling, sake tasting, and the chance to try your hand at diving for urchin.
Prizes were also awarded to bartenders from Mendocino County and further afield for Most Creative, Best Use of Heat, and Best Garnish.
The festival takes place along the coast throughout March.
“We need to learn to eat what’s bountiful and available, and not always just want that same piece of salmon,” said MendoParks board member Cally Dym after UniFest, a marriage of culinary arts and sustainability education.
The Woods Cooperative Association didn’t make the highest bid when buying the 43 acres of land below their homes, but this one allowed residents to remain in place, and Sequoia Living accepted.
