Because of a new reservoir management tool being tested out at Lake Mendocino, there is 18% more water available than there would be otherwise.
The Army Corps of Engineers closed the south ramp at Lake Mendo on Tuesday, citing low water levels and subsequent public safety. Without successful water management, they would have been closed much earlier.
The burn will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
After months of closures due to COVID, Lake Mendocino begins to open up.
Divers from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will be traveling to Lake Mendocino to undertake a possible recovery.
