UKIAH, CA., 10/29/25 – A man who allegedly forced his way into a Ukiah apartment on Tuesday was arrested with coordination between multiple law enforcement agencies, the Ukiah Police Department said.

At approximately 2:16 p.m. Tuesday, the Ukiah Police Department received a call from a woman at Willow Terrace Apartments on Gobbi Street regarding a man who had allegedly barged into her apartment while armed. The 35-year-old woman reported that the suspect had been staying with her but had allegedly forced his way into her apartment while brandishing a firearm. She managed to get away and call the police, she said.

Police evacuated the apartment complex, and a shelter-in-place order went out for nearby residents in the area as the investigation began.

Officers identified the suspect as Armando Garcia, 43, and noted that he had three outstanding felony warrants out of Santa Clara and Lake counties.

An arrest warrant was issued for Garcia and SWAT was able to enter the apartment and take him into custody, according to police. Garcia reported having a medical emergency and was taken to the hospital, where he was cleared before going to jail, Ukiah Police said.

Garcia was booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated trespassing, brandishing a firearm, resisting arrest, and being in possession of a controlled substance with prior felony convictions. He is being held without bail.
