MENDOCINO CO., 3/25/25 – Two girls were killed in a single-vehicle collision in rural Mendocino County on Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At approximately 8:50 a.m. Monday, a vehicle was traveling north on Ten Mile Cut Off Road, a back country road that links the city of Point Arena with the town of Gualala, when it veered off the road and struck a tree.
Upon arrival at the scene, first responders attempted life-saving measures for two passengers, a 16-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl, both from Gualala. Despite the first responders’ efforts, both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 19-year-old man from Gualala, was treated for minor injuries.
According to the CHP, alcohol and/or drug impairment are not considered factors in the investigation.
The identities of the victims have not been released, and an investigation is ongoing, the CHP said.
