UPDATE 11:10 p.m. — More engines are being released from the incident, and the fire is under control, thanks to the quick work of local fire departments and CalFire.

MENDOCINO CO., 9/2/18 — A fire has broken out at about the junction of U.S. Route 101 and Reynolds Hwy., just north of Willits in the Little Lake Valley. As of 10:30 p.m. the fire was a small spot fire, about 30 ft. by 30 ft. square.

The fire is burning on Schow Rd. across from Reynolds Hwy. Several engines have responded, but the bulldozer has already been recalled. The fire is apparently surrounded by driveway, and poses little threat and the majority of responding resources have already been canceled.

According to scanner traffic the fire was apparently caused by a BBQ that was knocked over on someone’s back deck.
