UKIAH, CA., 10/31/26 — Medium Art Center hosts an opening reception Friday, Nov. 6, of “Cats & Coffee,” featuring paintings by Lilly Mayfield. The show marks the Ukiah native’s first solo exhibition.

A lifelong performer and artist, Mayfield has spent years keeping art journals and volunteering for creative projects in the community. For the past decade, she has painted sets and props for local theater, working across styles and materials.

With no formal training, Mayfield has built her skills through guidance from local mentors and years of practice. “Cats & Coffee” brings that creative work into the gallery through a collection of luminous, vibrant acrylic paintings.

The exhibition opens during Ukiah’s First Friday Art Walk, with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6. Visitors can explore the paintings and celebrate Mayfield’s first solo show. Wine is donated by Saracina Vineyards, with light refreshments on hand. The event is free and open to the public.

The show runs through Dec. 1 at Medium Art Gallery, 110 S. School St., Ukiah. Gallery hours, except on First Fridays, are Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
