UKIAH, CA., 10/20/26 — The Ukiah Branch Library is hosting a Produce & Pantry Share Saturday, Oct. 24, from 2-4 p.m. This program invites community members to bring their surplus homegrown produce or non-perishable, non-expired, unopened pantry items to the library. The program also invites the public to visit the library during the event to pick up the free produce and food to take home.

Organized by library assistant Megan Wolf, the produce share joins libraries nationwide to help fight food insecurity. “Libraries are an excellent place for food justice programs because libraries have low barriers for access, often more hours than food banks, and libraries are community hubs,” said Wolf. “At the Ukiah Library we often have patrons come in and ask us where to find free food.”
