MENDOCINO CO., 10/14/26 — The new state budget includes $900,000 for Mendocino County to fix up the fairgrounds in Boonville, with the drinking water system the main focus, the county said in a news release.

The project will also help the fairgrounds connect to a community water system the Anderson Valley Community Services District has proposed, according to the release.

The county called the Anderson Valley Fairgrounds a critical community hub. It hosts the Mendocino County Fair and Apple Show. It also supports emergency response, such as fire camps, and it is a major resource and shelter in Anderson Valley for residents and their livestock when evacuation orders come down.
