MENDOCINO CO., 10/7/2026 – Residents in Lake and Mendocino counties can benefit from a federal grant issued to Sonoma State University to help address teacher shortages in rural areas.
The U.S. Department of Education awarded $5.45 million to the university through its Teacher Quality Partnership program to Sonoma State’s School of Education. The money will fund its regional initiative, Rural Opportunities & Outcomes for Teacher Scholars, or ROOTS.
