Dear Editor:

Knocking on doors is a great opportunity to get the thoughts of voters.  My wife and I have been walking door-to-door talking to neighbors about our two favorite candidates, Assemblyman Chris Rogers and City Council Candidate Mary Rose Kaczorowski.

Every election is an opportunity for voters to voice their priorities.  What I’ve noticed in this election is the anger of voters about their needs being ignored.

From the city council to the federal government, they see pandering to big corporations and little attention to improving roads, quality healthcare, educating our youth, prioritizing our neighborhoods, and making homes affordable.

Voters tell me that they appreciate Assemblyman Rogers listening to their concerns at over 30 town hall meetings in the last two years.  They support his legislation to prohibit corporations from influencing elections, lowering the cost of medicine, and preserving our publicly owned natural resources.

Likewise, voters support Mary Rose Kaczorowski for prioritizing neighborhoods, making sidewalks and streets safer, keeping taxes and city fees as low as possible while providing quality fire, police, water and sewer services, and ensuring owners and renters can afford to live in quality housing.

There is a voter tidal wave building for responsive, transparent, taxpayer accountable elected leadership. I urge everyone to join the effort. Surf’s up!
