Dear Editor:
I am supporting Eric Hart for 3rd District Supervisor in the November election.
Perception is important. You may think Eric presents himself as too low-key and somewhat shy, but each person he engages gets his full attention and an intelligent reply to a question or concern. He has complex thoughts and may take more than a minute to convey them but don’t misinterpret this as not having an answer or for lack of consideration. He could seem a little out of his element in the world of sound-bite politics—he prefers a long and thoughtful conversation—and these traits may not make him a flashy campaigner. But it will make him a fine supervisor.Â
Eric is a genuine listener and a determined problem-solver. He’s not politically ambitious, but a fellow citizen who sincerely wants to apply his considerable talents and experience to helping county government work more openly, smoothly and better. He is already suggesting intriguing, practical and specific suggestions for improving the processes of county government; he believes problems have solutions, and his campaign mission is to find a way to yes.Â

Eric is honest and straightforward. He doesn’t pretend to be ignorant of who is making large campaign contributions or whether those contributors have projects or pending business before the county. He doesn’t exaggerate his qualifications or past job responsibilities; he stands confidently on his own merits.Â
My considered opinion is that Eric Hart will be the best candidate and worthy successor to retiring Supervisor John Haschak. Like John, Eric is ethical and committed to transparency.Â
Beginning on Day One, he is prepared to serve our district, working to provide the best solutions and workable outcomes for Mendocino County problems. For the next four years he will prove himself worthy of your confidence…and your vote.Â

Willits

Eric Hart is also going to get my vote. I see in him the capacity to study real situations and develop solutions based not on political beliefs, but on what is needed to solve problems.
