FORT BRAGG, CA., 9/17/26 — Eight candidates are running for the three open seats on the Fort Bragg City Council this November. The Alliance for a Better Fort Bragg is hosting a forum Tuesday, Sept. 22 at the Company Store at 6 p.m.
All eight candidates, including the three incumbents—Marcia Rafanan, Tess Albin-Smith and Jason Godeke—were invited to participate. The five challengers accepted: Levi Cooke, Mary Rose Kaczorowski, Scott Mayberry, Mary Ann Schmidt and Richard Ulveling will appear at the forum. The eight were also invited to answer a written questionnaire. Those candidates who cannot come to the event but submit written responses will have their answers read during the forum.
“The Alliance for a Better Fort Bragg is excited to host this event and bring candidates and voters together,” said Chris Hart, a founding member of the alliance. “At our core, our organization was created to encourage productive discussion and thoughtful ideas about the city’s future. Giving Fort Bragg voters the opportunity to hear directly from their City Council candidates is an important part of that mission.”
Alliance members will meet after the forum to consider endorsing candidates. The group
cautions that seating is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The forum is at the Company Store, 301 North Main St., Fort Bragg, Sept. 22, 6 p.m.
