MENDOCINO CO., 8/7/26 — A heat advisory is in effect from Friday morning through Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures of 100-110 degrees are forecasted to reach inland Mendocino this weekend, the weather service said. The heat advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. Friday through 10 p.m. Sunday.
Forecasters noted that hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses, and everyone should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors.
Mendocino County public health officials announced Friday that air quality is expected to fluctuate due to drifting smoke from wildfires in the region and in other states. According to the county, air quality will range from moderate to unhealthy for sensitive groups.
According to the weather service, residents shouldn’t expect relief from the heat at night, and air conditioning is necessary as fans and open windows at night will not be enough to keep cool.
