MENDOCINO CO., 8/3/26 — Firefighters working on the Feliz Fire in Hopland “made great progress overnight,” Cal Fire officials said Monday morning.
As of Monday morning, the Feliz Fire in Hopland that started Saturday afternoon remained 30% contained at 872 acres, the same as last night, Cal Fire announced on the fire’s incident page.
Cal Fire’s update on the fire also noted that firefighters strengthened control lines and extinguished hot spots. The fire agency added that all evacuation warnings are lifted, and all evacuation shelters are now closed.
Cal Fire’s Monday morning status report said that 705 total personnel have helped battle the blaze as well as 54 engines and 14 water tenders.
According to Caitlin Grace, Cal Fire Mendocino’s public information officer, one firefighter was injured on Sunday and said they were taken by ground ambulance to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
